Buying property – FAQ
Can foreign nationals buy property in Montenegro?
Yes. Foreign nationals can buy apartments, houses and plots. There are restrictions for agricultural land and some special categories – we inform you about this for each property.
What does the buying process look like?
Once you have chosen a property, we check the documents and agree on price and terms; a preliminary contract is signed with a deposit, followed by the sale contract at a notary and registration in the land registry.
What does it mean if a plot is not zoned?
No planning document defining construction has been adopted for the plot yet. Such plots are cheaper, but building has to wait until zoning is approved. We always state the status of each plot clearly.
Do you offer video tours?
Yes – for buyers abroad we arrange live video calls from the location, as well as drone footage.
What costs are there besides the price?
Usually property transfer tax, notary fees and the agency commission. The exact amount depends on the type and value of the property – send us an enquiry for a precise calculation.
